Sejal Davla, PhD
Neuroscientist | Science Writer | Data Scientist
I spent more than a decade understanding the brain using cutting-edge methodologies in microscopy, molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. I uncovered new brain pathways that generate brain cells and how they influence sleep and circadian rhythm. Equipped with in-depth knowledge of research in a variety of life sciences areas, I am a motivated science storyteller who conveys technical concepts in a wide range of formats, including articles, infographics, and podcasts to scientific and lay audiences.
As a scientist, I know how to use data effectively, from asking the right questions to collecting, analyzing, and interpreting biomedical and real-world data. I use advanced data visualization and analysis tools to transform and simplify complex data for decision-making.
Besides doing science, I find joy and purpose in advocating for social justice and mentoring next-generation scientists from underrepresented communities. I lead and support initiatives that drive systemic changes in science and academia.
I am available for projects and collaborations at the intersection of science, data, and policy.
